The School Nurse


The school nursing team offers confidential service to children and young people in schools. The school nursing team consists of specialist practitioners who have experience in working along side parent/carers and other professionals to achieve the best outcome for your child and young person.

The team offer support with :


     *  Health advice and support

     *  Promotion of health and well-being

     *  Referral to and liaison with other health and social care agencies when required

     *  Training sessions in schools for staff to manage children's medical conditions

     *  Individual support for children and their parent/carers with additional needs

     *  Growth and development monitoring

     *  Individual health and assessments where needed

     *  Support children and families with special needs and complex medical needs




We can also give support on :


     *  Healthy eating

     *  Bed wetting

     *  Mental health and wellbeing

     *  Puberty

     *  Health conditions such as asthma and allergies

     *  Smoking, alcohol and drug misuse

     *  Behaviour management
