Statements to live by ...

We thought you would like to know that we are introducing a new resource called ‘Statements to live by’. These statements help the children and all of us adults too, to think about who we are, what we believe and what we hope to become. We hope that together we will nurture a sense of what it is to be fully human and alive as children and adults sharing in this Christian community.

There are 36 statements in all which are linked to our Religious Education programme and the Catholic life of the school but each one is relevant no matter what our religious beliefs are. Examples include: ‘We are all special’; ‘I try to appreciate the beauty and wonder in the world around me’; ‘I know how to show that I am sorry’. Each statement will be supported by activities in school such as ‘Circle Time’ and each statement will be celebrated in prayer. The statements will be displayed in each class. Each week the Friday Post will advertise the coming week’s statement and with some simple questions or an activity which you might carry out with your children.

Please try to work with us as we seek to help our children grow in love and understanding of themselves and others and of God in their lives. Teachers will always be happy to explain the activity to you if you would like them to – just ask.

Thank you for your all your support as we work together for the good of the children. May God bless us all.
