VISION AND MISSION:

Vision – scripture lead: John 8:12

12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Motto: Inspiring all to live, learn and love in the light of Jesus.  (cf John 8:12)

As a Catholic school we believe in providing strong foundations for our children based on the gospel values and virtues.  As a school community we want to live our shared mission to “inspire all to live, learn and love in the light of Jesus.” (cf John8:12).   We want to create a place where the core values of Faith, Family, Respect and Achievement are lived out every day and a place where every child and adult can succeed and grow in God’s love.  We want to create an outstanding learning environment for children, where there is excellent progress for all and the children are proud of their achievements.  Catholic schools are distinctive in their nature and we want this school to be a beacon of outstanding Catholic education for all.  Our vision for the future is to become a teaching school and to provide outstanding support for developing the whole child, considering their well-being as well as their academic success.

Our vision is that all children will leave with a sense that the Holy Spirit is with them regardless of any hurdles that come their way throughout the next part of their life.     We “form new generations not only in knowledge of the faith, but in every aspect of what it means to live as mature and responsible citizens in today’s world” (Pope Benedict).

How will we do this?  Curriculum Vision

At St Paulinus, we want to provide our children with a curriculum that gives them the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their lives.  We want to inspire them to have a love of learning, where they create work they are proud of and that they remember for years to come.  We want our children to grow in confidence and independence, using skills and strategies in increasingly challenging learning opportunities appropriate to their age and abilities.  Through our curriculum, we want to give our children the best start in life, providing them with opportunities they may not have access to and giving them a strong foundation that they can build upon in the future.  At St Paulinus we believe we have a unique opportunity to help form active citizens that work for the good of the community, citizens who use their gifts and talents in a positive way and citizens who can make a positive difference both in our community and beyond.

We believe that to give our children the best start in life, we need to focus equally on both sides of their development: they need to have experience of a range of learning opportunities and subjects where they can develop their interests and abilities over their seven years at our school and they need to develop the virtues, skills and strategies that will help them cope and flourish in an ever changing and developing world.

EXPERIENCES THAT INSPIRE; HEART, HAND AND MIND.

OUR CURRICULUM BELIEFS:

At St Paulinus, we believe that every child deserves the right to be able to achieve and flourish.  As such, we make every effort to ensure our curriculum is fully inclusive, meaning that children from all walks of life, all backgrounds and with varying needs can access the learning with the right support or adaptation as required.  We want all of our children to develop a love of learning during their time here and we endeavour to inspire them and give them experiences they will remember for years to come.  We passionately believe it is our job to lay the foundations of your child’s future and so we are fully committed to challenging them and pushing them to succeed and achieve their best, whilst also using the right tools and support they may need to get there.
