WHO ARE THE MINI VINNIES?

The St Paulinus Mini Vinnies group is for children in Year 6. Mini Vinnies meet to pray, discuss , support and help make a difference to our school ,parish and wider community. Mini Vinnies truly turn concern into action as they use the simple formula of ‘see, think, do’ to find people in need and help them. Have a look at our page and see all the things we do to fulfil the Mini Vinnie promise.

Our group is part of the national Mini Vinnies organisation and we come together to form a part of the St. Vincent de Paul Society England and Wales, a voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms.

MINI VINNIES MASS

On Wednesday 18 September, the Mini Vinnies went on the train to St Anne's Cathedral in Leeds to be commissioned as Mini Vinnies by Bishop Marcus. Groups from Catholic Primary Schools all over Yorkshire came together to take part in this special Mass. We had a wonderful trip and enjoyed our McDonalds lunch before we came back to school.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

We held two very successful Harvest Festivals in October 2024. All classes in school were involved either singing, showing art work, saying a harvest poem or acting out the Parable of the Sower. The Mini Vinnies were great at leading both worships and would like to thank all the visitors who attended the worships and Thank you to everyone for the amazing donations of food. Fusion foodbank will be amazed!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Operation Christmas Child In November we took part in Operation Christmas Child. We encouraged the children to bring in shoeboxes filled with lovely toys, toiletries and warm hats and gloves. Some classes even got together to do a joint shoebox where everyone brought...

The Mini Vinnies have been very busy selling poppies and other items for Remembrance Sunday. The snap bands are extremely popular. All money raised goes towards the Royal British Legion.

OUR MINI VINNIES

The Mini Vinnies came to help the new children learn how to make the sign of the cross correctly. They showed them altogether, then worked individually with them. They were very good teachers!
