We are proud to be a part of the myHappymind Family!

St Paulinus has just completed their first full year of the myHappymind project. As a whole school programme grounded in science and dedicated to building positive mental wellbeing, myHappymind helps children understand how their brains work and creates a culture that helps to build children's resilience, confidence, and self-esteem.

The programme also teaches the children how to self-regulate and manage their emotions in stressful times, allowing them to be their very best selves!

MyHappymind is delivered every week (from Nursery/Reception all the way through to Year 6) on a Monday so that the skills learnt can be fully embedded through the course of the week.

PSHE statement:

myHappymind is a mental health and well-being programme to support children in learning habits to support their own mental health. It does also cover all the mandatory objectives from the DfE Relationships Education Curriculum and also around 70% of the PSHE objectives.

Happiness Heroes:

To further embed the myHappymind program, we have chosen some ‘Happiness Heroes’ (a group of year 4, 5 and 6 children) to become St Paulinus’ myHappymind Ambassadors. Their role is to lead the way in helping their fellow pupils look after their mental health and fly the flag for ‘myHappymind’ in school. Every half term, our Heroes will come together to discuss their views on myHappymind, give updates on lessons being delivered and make plans to further develop the programme across school.

In addition, there are a range of tasks they will be completing over the year including planning mental health assemblies, promoting my happy mind exercises (e.g. Happy Breathing), conducting pupil voices, sharing positive messages with fellow students on how to maintain a positive mental health. They will also run a weekly lunchtime mindfulness club creating a safe space where children within the school community can relax and chat, play games or get to know some new friends.

The Parent App:

To further embed this learning, My Happy Mind has developed a Parent App. These resources can be accessed online on your computer, or through an app on your phone. The Parent App will support you as a parent in understanding what your child is learning, activities for you to do together at home and also a Kids Zone featuring My Happy Mind Games plus much more! To access these materials just go to https://myhappymind.org/parent-resources to create your free account. NB: You will need an authentication code, specific to our school, which can be obtained from your child’s class teacher.

Once you have created your account, you will receive an email with the next steps on downloading the app. We really encourage you to make use of this free content so that you can support your child in getting the best out of the curriculum. If you have any questions about ‘My Happy Mind,’ please contact your class teacher.

Below is the link to the Parent App Introduction video that you may like to add to your myHappymind page.
